Imagine getting a phone call that a loved one has just been involved in a critical accident.
Imagine that loved one being your child.
Imagine having a child who appears well and healthy until one day for no reason he/she can’t walk, or talk, or recognize who you are.
Imagine having your child diagnosed with a life threatening disease.
Imagine having a baby and finding out that your baby has been born with a defect.
It can only take a second to change one’s life forever. This is the case for many families when faced with having to care for a child who is medically fragile. Once out of the hospital, resources to help the special needs of these children are often limited or non-existent, posting vast hardships on the child and their family. After identifying these issues, Children’s Catastrophic Assistance Network (CCAN) was formed to help families meet the needs that existed where other organizations left off.
Our mission is to help improve the quality of life of children and their families affected by catastrophic injury or illness.
